What Do You Think Of . . . INTIMIDATION?

Intimidation

Intimidation is the action of intimidating someone, or the state of being intimidated.

Is there someone that makes you feel intimidated or insecure? Do they seem to be in control of your feelings?

It is really hard to fight intimidation but we can just deal with it. How?

1. DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY

We just have to deal with the situation we are into and keep it going, but not your intimidation. If you are talking to someone who has a higher position than you just accept the fact that they are. You cannot change the fact that they are what they are but you can change the things that are running in your head such as “You are no good?” ” You are no match to them?” “You have nothing?”   . Don’t you ever think of that things. And that’s for the second way of dealing with your intimidation.

2. THINK OF YOUR SKILLS.

Put in mind your skills, talents and stuff. Think that you can do better than them and that you can be what they are now. Act like you are just standing on the same level as they are. Don’t push yourself down or think that you are a loser but instead, think that you also has a guts to talk to them.

3. FIGHT YOUR FEAR.

Get rid of your uneasiness and stand straight. That would help you be yourself.

4. Just be who you are.

5. If

Maybe you are doing good that is why people are trying to make you feel intimidated. Don’t let yourself be lead by intimidation but by inspiration instead.

We all know that communication is the imparting or exchanging of information or news.  A means of connection between people or places, in particular.  But how communication works? How can we say that we communicate effectively?

There are some effective ways of communicating:

1. Give them the impression that you are excited talking to them.

Listeners want to feel that you have the interest of talking to them. They want to feel that you would rather talk to them than to anyone else. When you give them that feeling, you make them feel better about themselves and they are more likely to open up to you.

2. Talk about their interests.

Ask them about their interests. They will get more interested about the topic and they will be more comfortable talking with you. And the topic will help you get an insights about their needs and wants. If you help them gain positive perspective about their situation, they will have a deep sense of connection with you.

3. Show them approval.

One of the best way of an effective communication is to show them approval. Tell them that you admire them and that you appreciate them. And tell them why.

4. Listen to them.

Listen to what they are saying. Don’t focus too much on what you are going to say. Give them a time to speak their voices and let their ideas be heard so that they will be more interested about the topic you are discussing.

5. Eye Contact.

Do not forget to make an eye contact to whom you are talking with. That will show the audience that you are trustworthy enough and that you are confident on what you are saying.  And that would also catch their attention.

6. Just be yourself.

One of the best ways to earn someone’s trust is to reveal yourself as openly as you can. Tell them interesting stories about yourself — tell them just truth — that will help you gain their trust.

7. Inspire them or Encourage them.

Help them feel more confident in their own abilities  especially when you are talking with the one who is younger than you.  Convince them that they can surpass their problems and limitations and they will feel good about connecting with you.

These ways will help you have an effective communication with the people you are talking with. images (1)
